CATHOLIC VOLUNTARY ACADEMY
At St. Bede's our aim is to follow Christ's teaching and to follow his Mission.
‘Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.” (Luke, Chp 10 V 27).
Every opportunity and encouragement is given to enable all those connected with the school to grow in faith and spirituality. Our community is founded on Gospel values. The simple school rule is to love your neighbour and in all activities to act in a Christian manner.
At St Bede’s emphasis is placed upon the individual and uniqueness is celebrated. Each student is considered special and encouraged to develop their talents to the full so that they can fulfil their unique role in creation and go out into the world happy, confident and well adjusted young adults fully equipped to succeed in today’s society.
Education of the ‘whole’ child is of prime importance. Our aim is to motivate and empower our young people so that they realize their full potential and develop in all areas: spiritually, academically, morally, socially and physically. We see ourselves in partnership with Parents and our Parishes in the educational journey of our children.
Only the best is good enough for our young people. St Bede’s is committed to offering an academic curriculum of excellence. In line with the National Curriculum framework, all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum but this is supplemented substantially within our school by a wide range of learning experiences offered outside taught time: educational visits, homework/booster/extension classes and a variety of extra-curriculum activities.
At St Bede’s we aim to achieve an active, inspiring and challenging learning environment, expecting high standards of work and behaviour and placing great value on the work and effort shown by students.
We strive for excellence: “The search for excellence is seen as an integral part of the spiritual quest” (Bishops’ statement)
You are most welcome to view the school and to see us at work. Do not hesitate to make an appointment if you so wish. We would love to see you.
AT ST. BEDE'S OUR MISSION IS TO: LOVE, RESPECT AND SERVE ONE ANOTHER AS DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST
