GCSE Astronomy is an extra science GCSE run by the science department. It is run as a self study course facilitated by members of the science department. The course is usually open to students in year 11 who have a keen interest in astronomy.
Assessment of the specification consists of:
- External assessment (75%) External assessment is via a written paper. All questions on the written paper will be compulsory. There will be a variety of questions on the paper, comprising structured questions involving both short answer and some extended prose responses.
- Internal assessment (25%) Internal assessment is via coursework. Candidates are required to submit two pieces of coursework:
