KS4 Business Studies

Business Studies is an optional subject and students who opt for this course will study it in year 10 and year 11.  There are a number of units which students undertake throughout the course such as finance, marketing and people in business.

Business Studies follows the BTEC (First Extended Certificate) and therefore is fully assessed by written assessment throughout years 10 and 11.

Year 10

Units covered:
•    Module 1 - Exploring business purposes (involves looking at the different types of business, aims, objectives etc.)

•    Module 2 - People in business (involves producing CV's, covering letters, looking at organisational structures etc.)

Year 11

Units covered:
•    Module 2 - People in business (involves producing CV's, covering letters, looking at organisational structures etc.)

•    Module 3 - Investigating financial controls (involves looking at costs, revenues, cash-flow forecasts etc.)
