KS4 HistoryStudents follow the AQA (B) specification for GCSE History (Modern world history) Unit 1- International Relations: Conflict and Peace in the 20th Century. Pupils are examined in May/June of year 10 and the exam is worth 37.5% of their GCSE. Pupils have 3 lessons a week of History in Year 10 and 11.

Unit 2- Governments in Action in the 20th Century. Pupils are examined in May/June of Year 11 and the exam is worth 37.5%.
: The American Dream in 1919. : Prohibition and Gangsters in America. : Did everyone prosper in 1920s America? : Wall Street Crash. : Roosevelt’s solutions to the depression. : Civil Rights in the USA. : Martin Luther King.
: Nazi Germany. : How did Hitler get power? : Nazi anti Jewish policies. : Hitler’s policies on women.
Controlled Assessment. The controlled assessment takes place in the Autumn of Year 11 and is worth 25% of the final grade. All work is completed in school and the pupils have to write up their work under exam conditions using a work diary to help them.
The controlled assessment will involve using sources of evidence to produce a comparison between some aspects of Britain at war in WW1 and WW2.
