Wiseman House

Cardinal Nicholas Wiseman was born in Seville, Spain on 2nd February 1802. He was made a Doctor of Theology at the age of just 23 and was ordained into the priesthood at age 24. Wiseman was made the first Catholic Cardinal by Pope Leo XII after the reformation in England and therefore played a leading role in restoring the Catholic Church. His Eminence, Cardinal Wiseman died on 15th February 1865 and is buried at Westminster Cathedral, London.

Students in Wiseman House can learn a lot from Cardinal Wiseman; from being totally devoted to our faith to being courageous in the face of adversity and standing up for what we truly believe in. He was, indeed, a great man and someone that we should be proud to look up in this modern age.
