Liturgies and Masses

We love to join as a community and as a wider parish, saying liturgies and masses together. We punctuate our academic year with whole school masses to remind us that God is with us throughout the year, safe in the knowledge that “where two or three gather in [God’s] name, I am with them”.

We take time during the year to celebrate Feast Days of special saints important to St Bede’s. Students are involved in this preparation and there is representation across the whole school during these important liturgies.

We feel very lucky to have a close relationship with our parish. The assistant parish priest, Fr Lim, joins us each week to celebrate Mass in the chapel. Each tutor group is given an opportunity to prepare and join in delivering a Mass so that they can all encounter on a personal level.

Remembrance

Our students regularly gather for whole school Acts of Worship but a particularly poignant celebration is our Remembrance Worship. We gather as a full school community on the 11th November to give thanks and to remember those who have we have lost. Students are deeply respectful during this moving celebration and many participate in the service and lay a wreath at the cenotaph. At St Bede’s, we remember those that have gone before us and take solace in knowing they are now enveloped in God’s everlasting love.
